Pumpkin Butter

In pumpkin season this recipe makes great use of your hallowe’en pumpkin. It’s super easy and tastes fabulous. Use on your favourite breads and crackers and it makes a lovely hostess gift.

Course Side Dish

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Pumpkin Purée
  • ¼ cup Maple Syrup
  • cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Unsweetened Apple Juice
  • ½ Lemon, juiced (1 tbsp)
  • 2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • ½ tsp Ground Cloves
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ground Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a large saucepan.

  2. Stir well and bring mixture to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat, and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently.

  4. Transfer to sterile glass containers.

  5. Cool and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
